Dannie W. Parker, 79, of Hendersonville, TN formerly of Robinson, IL went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday March 28, 2018 at his residence in Tennessee.
He was born in Flat Rock, IL on April 13, 1938 to Chester Parker and Bessie (Taylor) Parker. On June 8, 1978 he married Carolyn Querrey who survives.
Dannie had managed several Insurance Agencies for Mutual of Omaha in Illinois, Michigan and Missouri. He finished his business career with State Farm Insurance Company in Nashville, TN. He served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1967. He was a member or the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, TN and the Robinson High School class of 1957. Dannie was very active with the Lions club in Michigan, especially with the eye glass donations for reuse. He was a member of the Life Insurance Underwriters, Health Insurance Underwriters as well as many other Insurance Organizations. Dannie enjoyed golfing, watching Golf for hours on T.V., fishing, woodworking and craft work. He especially enjoyed the time he had with his friends, family and his Lord and Savior over that past few years.
Dannie is survived by his wife Carolyn Parker, Hendersonville, TN; one son and daughter-in-law Eric and Ashley Parker, Mt. Pleasant, SC; one daughter and son-in-law Jill and Chris Ver Burg, Charleston, SC; one step-daughter Amy Jeschawitz, Williamstown, MA; five grandchildren Taylor Parker, Logan Parker, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Caroline and Jason Randle, Kaneohe, HI, Christopher Ver Burg and Will Ver Burg of Charleston, SC; two great grandchildren Parker Randle, Kaneohe, HI and Braxton Ver Burg, Charleston, SC. Dannie is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law Gene Ray and Shirley Parker, Robinson, IL; sister-in-law Doreen Parker, Robinson, IL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charles T. and Monica Querrey, Goreville, IL along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Gale, Gilbert “Gib” and Hubert Parker, two sisters Elnora Parker and Laura Bell Tuttle and brother-in-law Donald “Tut” Tuttle
Celebration of Dannie life will be held at 2:00pm Sunday April 8, 2018 at Pulliam Funeral Home 1005 W. Main St. Robinson, IL. Casual gathering of friend and family will be from 12:00 noon until service time. A private family burial will be held at Friends Creek Cemetery in Argenta, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that an expression of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Parkinson Association or an organization of the donor’s choice.
